3-D project is more complex and really need time to explore the basic tools. Especially for middle and high school students or beginner to start with build the simple object. Then try something difficult and creative objects or design. When know the steps to create 3-D objects, it's really fun and have more opportunity and challenge to try something different.
I have learnt to see 3D modeling and printing in sync and believe that students learn from both: from building the model and then by printing it.
