By reading the Chapter 1 - Time, I'm agree with Digital technologies are based away from time, and toward asynchronous. The big example is email, nowadays email become more and more popular than phone. People can response their email when they want to response instead of immediately just like phone call. It also give people room and time to think about the content they want to response. The reason of email become more popular is it doesn't cost a lot. People can go to the place have wifi or stay at the public with wifi work with computer do anything they want to do. Also you can set up the email comes offline instead of going online to get emails. It's create the personal space that make people feel safe. In this way people email to engage with the digital that to connect to the net work and also can use others to links to blog comment, social networking message, or tweet and so on in order to build the relationships to other people, work, or gaming with each other. And people also enjoys on it. Digital media engaged in our lives from decades ago and it slowly becomes the important part of our life. It expand the way we think and use.
By reading the Chapter 2 - Place, from Gina's example I thought especially for young people in nowadays, they are super related to the technology instead of networking and communicating with people in person. They are slowly forget to be active in the place they want to enjoy instead of pay attention to the technology such as post pictures online to share with people in a digital environment. But the digital offers more opportunities to know from others in the world and increase the quality of working when interact with media. People do not need to go to the Europe to know the history of Renaissance and the building strictures of artistic buildings. People just need to find the informations they need via media to help understanding and learning. It's more in high efficiency. But under this situation, I think people need to combine the real world and digital world to find the way they wish to live and work.
